For plenty of folks, their youth was soundtracked by: "Perhaps... you're the one that'll rescue me...." Now, memories are surging back, as the iconic British pop band Oasis is planning a return. After years of discord, siblings Noel and Liam Gallagher are set to unite once more, scheduling concerts across the UK and Ireland next summer. They declared on social media: "The long wait is finally over."

Performances are scheduled in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Ticket sales start this Saturday, with these being the only European shows arranged thus far. Shows on additional continents are also under consideration.

With tunes like "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Supersonic," Oasis molded the '90s. The Manchester ensemble rose to become one of the most successful music groups in British history. Fifteen years ago, the band dissolved, with Noel Gallagher departing due to a dispute with his younger brother.

This week marks 30 years since Oasis launched their debut album "Definitely Maybe" in 1994. Their second album "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" remains among the best-selling albums in the UK today.

For numerous followers, this return is about much more than mere nostalgia, a BBC journalist mentioned. Oasis embodied hedonism and an "who cares" attitude, inspiring fans with the belief that anything was conceivable. They also made headlines with sibling quarrels and scandals, notably frontman Liam Gallagher, who once spent a night in a Munich prison following a hotel brawl.

The brothers' feud led to the band's disbandment in 2009 when Noel announced he was leaving due to the fact that he "couldn't work with Liam any longer." Noel penned many of Oasis's biggest hits as the lead guitarist and songwriter, while Liam's notable voice shaped the band's sound. The siblings pursued separate careers following their split.

The siblings' feud persisted for years, with even former Beatle Paul McCartney advising them to reconcile and collaborate on music. Speculations of a return have circulated for years, and lately, hints have become more tangible. The identity of any additional performers joining them on stage remains uncertain, but a Glastonbury Festival appearance is not scheduled, according to the PA news agency.

Currently, around four shows at London's Wembley Stadium are planned, but this hasn't yet outdone the record set by US star Taylor Swift, who performed eight shows there during a single tour.

Upon learning of the news, fans flooded X platform with thousands of messages. "Where can I purchase tickets?" inquired one post, "I'm offering to sell my property." A black-and-white photograph of Liam (51) and Noel Gallagher (57) was also shared, supposedly taken during a personal gathering between the brothers this summer.

Many had been anticipating Tuesday's announcement. Until the last moment, TV reporters commented that one never knows with the Gallagher brothers. Even Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, the brothers' hometown, admitted he wouldn't be shocked if one of them changed their mind at the last second. But this time, it appears it's truly happening. "And after all, you're my wonderwall."

The 1990s was a decade characterized by Oasis's rise to fame, with hits like "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Supersonic" becoming anthems of the time. Despite dissolving in 2009 due to sibling disputes, the 1990s icon is set to perform once again in the UK and Ireland, reminiscing the era of their success.
