Further fall in producer prices for agricultural products in Germany
Producer prices for agricultural products in Germany have fallen for the seventh month in a row. Farmers received an average of 14.5 percent less for their goods in October than a year earlier, according to the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden on Thursday.
The main reason for the development is still a base effect, as the statisticians explained: agricultural prices had risen extremely sharply in 2022 as a result of the Russian attack on Ukraine. Compared to the previous month of September, a decrease of 1.7 percent was calculated.
Prices for plant products were 17.5 percent lower in October than in the same month last year. They therefore fell slightly more than prices for animal products (minus 12.6%) within a year.

The decrease in producer prices for agricultural products in Germany also affected other goods, following a similar trend. In October, the Producer prices for various Products in Germany saw a decline, mirroring the trend for agricultural items. This downward trend in producer prices has been ongoing for seven consecutive months in Germany.
