Frontman of Crazy Town succumbs at 49 years old.

In the year 2000, the US band, Crazy Town, took over the global music scene with their smash hit "Butterfly." Unfortunately, their lead vocalist, Shifty Shellshock, has passed away at the age of 49.

"Come on baby, come here, come on baby. You're my butterfly, sweet thing." Lyrics that anybody who listened to pop music back then would probably recognize. "Butterfly" by Crazy Town still plays in our heads, even though the band's been quiet. The unfortunate news for fans from the past is that Shifty Shellshock, the band's frontman, is no longer with us.

American gossip blogger Perez Hilton reported that Seth Brooks Binzer, Shellshock's real name, was found deceased on June 24, 2023, in his LA home. The medical examiner's official court documents also confirm this. Shellshock leaves behind two sons, one of whom is in his teenage years.

The reason behind his death is still a mystery. Shellshock was known to struggle with alcohol and drug issues for years. In 2012, he spent some time in a coma, and his addiction was believed to have played a part in that as well.

In the comments section of his last Instagram post in April, fans and friends have left their condolences and farewells. " speechless! RIP, Hero of my youth", "I love you. Rest In Peace, my angel", or "I will remember you as the young boy with the skateboard, who still had his whole life ahead of him" are just a few of the many heartbreaking messages.

"Butterfly" reached number one in Germany

Crazy Town was formed in LA in 1999 by rappers Shifty Shellshock and Epic Mazur (real name Bret Mazur). They had been friends since high school. Other band members included Rust Epique (guitar), Antonio Lorenzo "Trouble" Valli (guitar), Doug "Faydoe" Miller (bass), JBJ (James Bradley Jnr., drums), and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein, turntables). Goldstein passed away in 2009.

"Butterfly" made its way onto the German charts on March 19, 2001, at position six and reached the top spot two weeks later, where it stayed for six weeks.
