Blackfacing
When white people make themselves up as black people, which is considered a mockery (regardless of whether it is meant that way)
Cancel culture
The strategy of publicly ostracizing alleged misconduct, offensive or discriminatory statements
Cis
Summarizing all people who identify with their innate gender
Critical whiteness
White people who critically question their own privileges
Deadname
Former name of trans people who have renamed themselves according to their actual gender. Naming should be prohibited and prosecuted under criminal law
Decolonization
Liberation of the sciences from Eurocentric and colonial ways of thinking
Diversity
Social concept of giving greater representation to people who do not belong to the majority society
Eurocentrism
Term for the world view dominated by Europeans and European-influenced societies
FLINTA
Collective term for women, lesbians, intersexuals, non-binary people, transgender people, asexuals
Gender
The social gender that does not necessarily have to correspond to the sexual gender
Identity politics
Political action that focuses on the needs of a particular group
Institutionalized racism
Racism that allegedly underlies state and social institutions
Karen
Disparaging collective term for white middle-class women who lecture others
Cultural appropriation
Whites adopting hairstyles, music, clothing styles or other cultures of marginalized groups
LGBTQIA*
Collective term for all queer orientations, i.e. lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, intersexual and asexual. The asterisk is representative of other variants
Pronouns
New pronouns for non-binary people, such as they/them, German variant: "ens"
Safe space
Safe space for marginalized people, from which all representatives of the majority society can be excluded at any time
TERF
Pejorative term for feminists who distinguish trans women from biological women
Token
Black or BIPOC who are engaged (for example in films) in order to disguise basic racism
Trigger warning
Reference to content that could upset sensitive people
Woke
Collective term for those who perceive themselves as particularly sensitive to discrimination
