"Friends" actor Matthew Perry laid to rest

US actor Matthew Perry has been buried in Los Angeles following his unexpected death, according to US media reports. According to reports, Perry's former colleagues from the series "Friends" were also present at the funeral service, which is said to have lasted around two hours.

In the past few days, Jennifer Aniston (54), Courteney Cox (59), Lisa Kudrow (60), Matt LeBlanc (56) and David Schwimmer (56) had already spoken of an "incredible loss" in a statement.

Results of the autopsy are still pending

The 54-year-old Perry, who had his greatest success with "Friends", was found dead in a hot tub in his home in Los Angeles on Saturday last week. The cause of death was initially unknown, but foul play was ruled out. An autopsy is now expected to provide clarity.

In his autobiography, published in 2022, the actor had written openly about his decades-long battle with alcohol, drug and pill addiction.

The 90s hit series "Friends", in which Perry played the role of Chandler Bing, revolved around the lives of six young friends in New York. The TV series was produced in the USA from 1994 to 2004 and became a TV cult in countless countries. For the special show "Friends: The Reunion" in 2021, all six main actors appeared together in front of the camera once again.
