Frankfurt "Tatort" gets new investigator duo

At "Tatort," the personnel carousel spins once again. This time, instead of bidding farewell, a new duo is to be welcomed. After Margarita Broich and Wolfram Koch, alias Anna Janneke and Paul Brix, have quit their duties in Frankfurt, it is now confirmed who will succeed them.

Since December of last year, we have known that Margarita Broich and Wolfram Koch will be leaving "Tatort." For nearly ten years and 19 episodes, the two played the Frankfurt detective duo Anna Janneke and Paul Brix. Their last case, "Es grünt so grün, wenn Frankfurts Berge blühn," has already been filmed. When it will be aired is still not exactly known, but it is likely by the end of 2024.

However, as expected, a new beginning follows the departure. The Frankfurt "Tatort" precinct will not remain unoccupied for long. The successors of Broich and Koch have been determined, according to Hessische Rundfunk (HR). Starting in 2025, actress Melika Foroutan and her colleague Edin Hasanović will form the new mixed team, hunting criminals in the Main Metropolis together.

Meanwhile, it is still open how the names of the 1976-born Foroutan and the 32-year-old Hasanović will sound. HR is supposed to reveal this in the fall.

Focus on "Cold Cases"

It is already established that there will be an inhaltliche Neuausrichtung at the Frankfurt branch of the ARD crime series, "Tatort." In the future, "Cold Cases" will be in the spotlight at the Hessian "Tatort," meaning unsolved crimes from the past.

Foroutan was born in Teheran but came to Germany as a child. She has already appeared in numerous film and television productions. Most recently, she portrayed Archduchess Sophie in the Netflix series "The Empress" in 2022.

Hasanović was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His mother fled with him to Germany when he was still an infant due to the war that broke out there in 1992. Hasanović has also acted in many films and series. He was part of the ensemble for the Netflix remake of the war drama "All Quiet on the Western Front" two years ago.

  1. The departure of Margarita Broich and Wolfram Koch from the crime scene of "Tatort" opens up an opportunity for a new TV series on ARD, focusing on solving cold cases in Frankfurt.
  2. Interested viewers can look forward to Melika Foroutan and Edin Hasanović, the new duo joining the Frankfurt "Tatort" team, as they delve into unsolved mysteries on TV.
  3. Fans of thrilling entertainment will soon be able to tune into ARD to witness the investigation tactics of Foroutan and Hasanović, two talented actors with impressive resumes, in their new thriller TV series.
