Frank Zander is "not going to break so quickly"
At the beginning of the week, Frank Zander is taken to hospital by ambulance. And just before his traditional Christmas party for the homeless. The singer is still undergoing treatment, but is confident: "I'll be fine."
Frank Zander continues to struggle with health problems just before Christmas. On Monday, the 81-year-old was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Berlin. His son Marcus now gives an update on his father's state of health in an interview with RTL.
The singer is currently undergoing intensive examinations in hospital, says Marcus Zander, adding: "As of midday today, the doctors are hopeful that they may have found the problem." The exact diagnosis is still pending, but if all goes well, his father will be "quickly and one hundred percent fit again". Frank Zander also let it be known: "'A real' Berlin veteran doesn't break so quickly. He'll be fine again!"
He was getting weaker and weaker
Frank Zander was taken by ambulance to Martin Luther Hospital in Berlin at the beginning of the week. After a TV show on December 1 and a previous corona infection, his father's physical condition had become "worse from day to day", Marcus Zander explained to "B.Z.". The musician could hardly get out of bed in the morning and had hardly any appetite. His family doctor then pulled the ripcord and urgently recommended that Frank Zander go to hospital.
The singer explained in a short statement: "I could think of something better than having to go to hospital before my Christmas party for the needy and homeless." But there was no other option: "I was getting weaker and weaker. And now I'm being completely checked over here."
The Christmas party, which Frank Zander has been organizing regularly for the homeless and needy since the 1990s, is to take place on 22 December at the Estrel Hotel in Berlin. It will definitely take place, emphasizes the singer's son in the RTL interview. If his father is unable to personally greet the guests at the "heartfelt family celebration for the poorest of the poor", he will stand in with his son Elias.
