Ukrainian air defense units managed to intercept four Russian Shahed drones and one Iskander-K cruise missile overnight, as reported by Ukrinform via Telegram. The air defense's missile units and mobile fire groups took down four of the drones in the regions of Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk, along with one missile in the region of Kyiv.

At 8:09 am, Ukraine reported its fourth civilian casualty from a Russian rocket attack on a residential building in Kharkiv. It was revealed by the governor of Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniehubov, that 25 others were injured in the attack, making the total number of casualties number four.

According to Ukrinform, Kyiv claims that over a thousand Russian soldiers have been eliminated within a day. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry revealed that a total of 507,650 Russian soldiers have been "eliminated" since the war began in February 2022. In addition to this, the ministry reported 18 tanks and 13,900 armored vehicles that are no longer in possession of the Russian military or have been destroyed.

In Krasnodar, two people were injured in a Ukrainian air attack on oil facilities. The local authorities confirmed the news, explaining that the infrastructure at an oil depot in the Temrjuk district was damaged and a fire had been extinguished. The Russian Defense Ministry claims that they shot down five rockets and 29 drones that the Ukraine fired at the region.

Additionally, the Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported several explosions on the Russian-occupied Crimea overnight. Eyewitness accounts asserted that there were eight to ten explosions in Port Kavkaz, with a fire taking place at an oil depot in the port. Earlier, there were already reports of a large fire in the port. The Ukrainian General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine says that two ferries from Kerch were hit by ATACMS missiles.

In a statement, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) reports evidence that Russia is using North Korean rockets in Ukraine.

The US government views China's support of Russia as a threat to European security as per the deputy spokesman for the US State Department, Vedant Patel. Washington has accused the Chinese leadership of supporting Russia's war in Ukraine and has threatened potential sanctions.

Scholz emphasized that preventing a war between NATO and Russia is crucial. This stance is also shared by US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron.

An insider report suggests that the US is allowing the use of US weapons against Russia by Ukraine, albeit with restrictions. A US government representative recently revealed that Americans arms can be used in the Kharkiv region, but the caveat is that Ukraine should not employ them for attacks within Russia. The previous position adopted by US President Joe Biden, who had denied Ukraine the use of US weapons for operations within Russia, still stands, confirmed US government sources.

The Ukrainian Storm Brigade, a police unit of the Ukrainian armed forces, has shared a video featuring street fighting in Vovchansk. The unit, which is defending the city in the Kharkiv border region along with other troops, released the footage to showcase soldiers of the Storm Regiment Tsunami preventing Russian soldiers from occupying a building.
