Formula 1 star goes completely bare for calendar
In his spare time, Valtteri Bottas enjoys fishing, cycling and collecting peaches. For a good cause, he does without his clothes - and allows himself to be photographed by German star photographer Paul Ripke. The fans are ecstatic.
Finnish Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas is bringing out a special photo calendar for 2024: Bottas' bottom is the focus of each of the 13 pictures. Photographer Paul Ripke, also known from his former podcast with Joko Winterscheidt, staged the racing driver and his bottom. The photographer and model presented the calendar together in front of an audience and on Instagram, emphasizing the artistic aspect of the project with a wink.
The pictures were taken in Aspen, Colorado. In keeping with the theme, however, the city is spelled "Asspen" on the calendar. Even the cover picture shows Bottas dressed only in a fishing hat and fishing in the countryside. The monthly pictures show Bottas Popo under a waterfall, on a mountain bike, picking peaches or cooking.
The calendar is marketed under the name "Bottass 2024" and can be purchased for 19.90 euros. The whole thing is also intended to serve a good cause: Five euros per calendar will go to the "Movember" foundation, which supports men's health projects, including, fittingly, prostate cancer screening.
Anyone who has been following Bottas on Instagram for a while will probably be less surprised by the project. The calendar was the result of a running gag on Bottas' social media channels. In 2022, the Finn posted a snapshot from his summer vacation showing him doing a cartwheel naked on a deserted beach. The photo was so popular that Bottas has been posting nude pictures - mostly of his backside - ever since.
The Formula 1 driver's fans are thrilled: "This man is a legend", say the comments, as well as "Formula 1 would be boring without this masterclass moustache maestro", or "This is the kind of content we want". However, not all followers share the humor. One user has to painstakingly remind himself: "He's doing it for a good cause, he's doing it for a good cause..."
Valtteri Bottas, known for his love of entertainment, decided to integrate his hobby of photography into his charity work. In collaboration with Formula 1, he planned a unique photoshoot featuring himself in various Finnish landscapes, including Formula 1-themed settings, showcasing his bare bottom for a humorous twist.
