Model History
Starting in 2014, the fifth generation of this Cologne mid-range model introduced a facelift and a hybrid variant. Production of the fifth generation concluded in 2022, making way for its successor, the sixth generation, which is no longer being sold as a new vehicle.

The suspension, as indicated by "Auto Bild TÜV-Report 2024", receives top marks in all categories during the MOT. The foot and parking brakes also exhibit below-average fault statistics. Brake hoses and lines, in particular, perform exceptionally well.
Weak Spots
Brake discs are a common challenge for the Mondeo, with visible signs of wear appearing frequently. Another concern is oil loss, which affects all production years. Exhaust systems, unfortunately, also underperform.
Breakdown Behavior
ADAC statistics reveal that the Mondeo experiences a higher prevalence of breakdowns on the road. It ranks in the mid-level or even lower segments in the related breakdown statistics.
According to ADAC, 2016 models suffer from generator problems, 2019 models have fuel pump issues, and 2015-2017, as well as 2020-2021 models, exhibit starter battery problems.
