- Following his termination, the intoxicated dredger operator initiates substantial property destruction.
Dealing with his termination, a construction equipment operator in Bavaria turned to alcohol and went on a demolition spree. Over a 200-meter stretch, he wrecked cable ducts, cement supports, and a communications system. The damages are estimated to be between 30,000 to 50,000 euros, as the Nuremberg Police Department reported on Friday. The individual in question worked for a contractor at Ipsheim station.
Supervisor and Team Leader Put a Stop to the Operator
Following his dismissal, he allegedly drove to the station, situated between Nuremberg and Würzburg, in his personal vehicle on Thursday evening. There, he is said to have wrecked the items with the excavator. However, it was only when the supervisor and a team leader intervened that he was halted.
They detained him until law enforcement arrived on the scene. A breathalyzer test confirmed his intoxication. The Nuremberg Police are now probing charges of vandalism and conspiracy to vandalize. The 49-year-old also faces charges for driving under the influence.
The supervisor and team leader from the Federal police were called to the scene due to the operator's destructive actions. Upon their arrival, they aided in preventing further damage and apprehending the intoxicated operator.
