RTL jungle camp - Film star Heinz Hoenig is officially confirmed

Film star Heinz Hoenig (72) is the first celebrity to be officially confirmed by broadcaster RTL for the 2024 jungle camp. "There is already a lot of speculation about who will move into the 2024 jungle camp. We are already exclusively revealing the first candidate: actor Heinz Hoenig is taking on the exciting adventure in Australia," can be read on the social media channels.

On his participation in the 17th season of "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" in January, Hoenig says: "I've never done anything like jungle camp before. It's a challenge, I'm up for it. And that's why I'm going there! Period."

His wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig, who is 34 years younger than him, and their one-year-old son Jianni will be among those cheering him on at home. "I said: Honey, it's now or never! If he wants to do it, the whole family is behind him," confirms his wife Kärsten-Hoenig.

Hoenig became famous with films and multi-part films such as "Das Boot" (1981), "Der Schattenmann" (1996) and "Der König von St. Pauli" (1998).

Celebrity speculation

Back in November, Cologne's "Express" newspaper reported the first stars and starlets who are to move in. Influencer Twenty4Tim (23) is said to be at the top of the list of other contestants. Another potential candidate is reality star Emmy Russ (24).

RTL is also said to have its eye on a former "Bachelor" contestant and a "Bachelorette" contestant for next year's jungle camp: Franziska Temme (28) and Rafi Rachek (33).
