"The way home" - Film adaptation of Sebastian Fitzek's book underway
Filming has begun on the adaptation of the bestseller "The Way Home" by Sebastian Fitzek (52). This was announced by Amazon Prime Video. It is the second project in the cooperation between bestselling author Fitzek, Ziegler Film and Prime Video Germany.
After the successful series "Die Therapie", "Der Heimweg" is coming in 2024
Fitzek's novel "Der Heimweg", on which the film is based, was published in 2020 and, according to the press release, was number one on the bestseller lists for eleven consecutive weeks and on the order lists for 120 weeks in total. Luise Heyer (38, "Nahschuss") and Sabin Tambrea (39, "Babylon Berlin") can now be seen in the leading roles in the film adaptation. The cast also includes Friedrich Mücke (42, "Ballon") and Dennenesch Zoudé (56, "Unorthodox").
Filming is currently taking place in Berlin and the surrounding area, according to reports. "The Way Home" should then be available on Prime Video at the end of 2024.
The Amazon Prime series "Sebastian Fitzek's The Therapy" is currently enjoying great success worldwide. The series is based on the Berlin-based author's first major bestseller "Die Therapie" from 2006.
