- Farewell is being expressed by Katie Holmes.
Katie Holmes (46) spoke up on her Instagram about the demise of her co-star Obi Ndefo (1972-2024), who passed away at 51 on August 31. Holmes shared a picture, initially posted by her co-star Mary-Margaret Humes (70). "Working with him was great, and he was such a considerate person," Holmes wrote. She expressed her sympathy to his family and signed off with a heart emoji.
Holmes gained popularity as Joey Potter in "Dawson's Creek" in the late '90s. Ndefo, also known for his roles in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (1993) and "Stargate SG-1" (1997), played her on-screen brother in the series.
Further mourning from "Dawson's Creek" stars
Earlier, Humes, who had worked alongside both stars in "Dawson's Creek," paid her tribute to Ndefo with a detailed post on Instagram. She described him as a "beacon of light" and a "cherished friend." She also admired his strength during life's hardships.
Ndefo's sister announced his untimely death via a Facebook post. The cause of his death, as a veteran actor and yoga instructor, remains undisclosed. In August 2019, Ndefo faced a severe setback when, after visiting a supermarket, he was struck by an SUV in the parking lot, resulting in the loss of both his legs. Remarkably, despite this challenge, Ndefo maintained a positive outlook and remained resolute.

Following his passing, many artists who worked with Ndefo in "Dawson's Creek" shared heartfelt tributes, highlighting his kind and resilient nature despite the 'Deaths' he faced.
