A big hay bale heart in the middle of nowhere announces it: the 19th "Farmer seeks wife" season! Where the air is the purest, nature is the most untouched and you can hear the loneliest hearts beating the loudest, format icon Inka Bause is waiting in the wings with a smile on her face and a lot of hope in her eyes. After weeks of searching, twelve farmers have picked out the "cherries" from the love letters they received. Now the loneliness between the barn and the rustic bedroom will finally come to an end.
Dairy farmer André is already all jittery. The 33-year-old permanent grinch from the Lower Rhine feels "carefree and secure" surrounded by his animals. A beautiful woman at his side should make his happiness in life perfect. Bull breeder Siegfried also elevates his hoofed animals to the throne of evolution: "You should treat animals as well as people," says the tractor fan from the Odenwald.
Ten farmers, two farmers' wives
In addition to many seasoned men, two female farmers are also taking part this year. Poultry expert Stefanie not only has 65 chickens, but also a five-year-old daughter in tow. Horse farmer Carolin also dreams of having her own offspring. The 26-year-old from Hesse has never been in a proper relationship. Her greatest wish: "A life with a well-groomed man!" Whether Carolin's dreams and those of the other love-hungry farmers come true will be decided during the farm week. However, before they head off in the direction of happiness in love, Inka first invites them to the big barn party. This is where it is decided who gets to go on the big dating trip and who has to return home without having achieved anything.
While the suckling pig sizzles on the spit, Inka swings the beer barrel hammer with exuberance. With a little help from farmer Patrick, it's finally "O'zapft is!" Like bees in a honey frenzy, the candidates verbally attack each other. With his heart in his eyes, bull friend Siegfried is looking forward to future cooking adventures with the chosen ladies-in-waiting Patricia and Simone: "Wrong rabbit? What's that?" echoes through the barn. Farmer Stephan has chosen blonde Laura: She immediately asks the really important questions in life: "Do you like garlic?", Laura wants to know. Stephan's enthusiasm is limited. If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, then the two of them are in for a challenging week on the farm.
"I'm looking forward to it like a schnitzel!"
The basic theme of "food" is omnipresent. The suckling pig, which once weighed 20 kilos, now only weighs as much as a Chihuahua. Gingerbread hearts, nibbled pieces of Danish pastry and homemade jam in small disposable jars are piled up in the corners of the party tent. From a distance, someone shouts: "I'm happy as a clam!" His name: Lukas. The reason for the explosion of euphoria: Carolin, the horse farmer, has invited Lukas to her farm.
The hidden object book of love is full of happy faces. Only one person present is still a little wavering. Lisa, chosen by "heavy metal" farmer Christoph, is not quite sure yet. A little nudge from Inka finally opens the door to happiness: "Yes, I'm going to the farm week with you!" says the blonde with the nose ring. Seconds later, Lisa and Christoph are in each other's arms, smiling happily. Now each candidate has finally found their perfect format cover. It's time to celebrate - and "Until dawn!"
