"Kevin - Home Alone 3" - Fake trailer delights fans

It has already been viewed 2.2 million times on YouTube : A trailer for the film "Home Alone 3 - Kevin's Revenge", which has been announced for 2024, is currently causing a sensation. Is the Kevin series with Macaulay Culkin (43) really getting a late third part?

Unfortunately not. The clip is just a parody, as the title of the video makes clear. The makers have put together the teaser for"Kevin's Revenge" from various sources.

We see scenes from the original "Kevin - Home Alone" from 1990 and, above all, a commercial for Google Home from 2018, in which Macaulay Culkin plays an adult version of Kevin McCallister, who effortlessly keeps burglars at bay with the Google smart home device. The fake trailer also includes sequences from "American Horror Story". Culkin was in the tenth season of the series in 2021.

The "wet bandits" want revenge on Kevin

The story of "Home Alone 3 - Kevin's Revenge": The "wet bandits" Harry (Joe Pesci, 80) and Marv (Daniel Stern, 66) are released from prison after 30 years. They have only one thing on their minds: revenge on Kevin McCallister. He turns the tables and breaks into the burglars' house himself (these scenes are from"American Horror Story"). In the end, Kevin barricades himself in his house, according to a news report, with weapons, explosives and, as in "Kevin - Home Alone", "possibly tarantulas".

Fake voiceover recordings give the scenes taken out of context a new meaning. For example, the adult Kevin complains to his mother that she left him alone and that he had to defend the house at the age of eight. This accurately summarizes the plot of the original in an almost sad way.

Fans demand filming of the fake trailer

Fans of the 'Kevin' series are delighted with the artfully edited fake trailer. In the comments on YouTube, they are calling for the story to actually be made into a movie.

Incidentally, there really is a third part of "Home Alone". It was made in 1997 without Macaulay Culkin and the other stars of the first films - but with a young Scarlett Johansson (39).

Part four followed in 2002, again with a completely new cast. After a Canadian reboot in 2012, Disney+ released "Not home alone again" in 2021. In it, Devin Ratray (46) played the adult Buzz McCallister, Kevin's nasty brother. Clips from this film can also be seen in "Home Alone 3 - Kevin's Revenge".
