A chemical factory in India, which manufactures food coloring, has witnessed a devastating explosion resulting in the death of at least ten individuals. Nearly seventy people sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital, as per reports by "The Hindu".
The explosion transpired on Thursday afternoon when a steam boiler blew up and ignited a fire, causing enormous damage to the nearby factories and houses. The firefighting crew labored throughout the night to extinguish the flames.
The location of this calamity is in the Thane district, situated within the metropolitan area of Mumbai's financial center. The factory employed hazardous substances that were highly unstable and reactive. Investigations have commenced against the factory's owners for acts of negligence, and officials who issued permits and conducted inspections are also under scrutiny.
The state government's head, Eknath Shinde, has declared that each victim's family will receive a sum of 500,000 rupees (approximately 5600 euros) as compensation. Additionally, the government will pay for the medical fees of the injured individuals, a common occurrence in India when it comes to accidents related to infrastructure.

The factory where the explosion occurred was known for manufacturing hazardous substances, increasing concerns about potential future incidents. At least fifteen people were declared dead and over sixty were critically injured, with many still in critical condition at the hospital.
