Expected first foreign visit for President Biden: France.
To mark the 80th anniversary of the Allied forces' landing in Normandy, US President Joe Biden is scheduled to do his maiden state visit to France next week. The French Presidency confirmed that Joe and his wife Jill would be received by Emmanuel Macron on June 8th. The two presidents plan to discuss the prolonged backing for Ukraine.
During their meeting, they'll also touch upon climate change and broadening their mutual relationship, especially in sectors like economics, space, and nuclear energy, the announcement mentioned. Macron and his better half Brigitte had visited the US for a state visit back in December 2022.
In Normandy, around 25 heads of state and government, along with World War II veterans, are predicted to be present at a remembrance ceremony the coming week. They'll honor the over 160,000 troops from Britain, the United States, Canada, etc., who set foot on the coast on June 6, 1944. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been invited to attend.

The US President's first foreign visit as the US President will be a testament to the enduring US-France alliance, established during the Allied forces' D-Day landings in 1944.
