- Exhibits his latest laid-back style in Venice
Ex-James Bond actor Daniel Craig (56) has shown up in Venice. Sporting lengthy blond locks, dark shades, a white tee, blue denims, and white kicks, the British thespian made an easygoing entrance as he disembarked from a water taxi at the Lido. There's no hint of his renowned role as suave spy 007 left on him.
Style Shift for the Screen
The actor initially left fans in awe with this fresh look a month ago. The new hairdo is due to his upcoming project "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" (Netflix, 2025). The long hair and scruffy beard were already displayed in a preview image. Craig steps back into his acclaimed "Knives Out" role as the investigator Benoit Blanc, but with a radical makeover. Filming commenced in June.
Accompanied by his wife Rachel Weisz (54, "The Favourite"), he's now visited the enchanting city of Venice to present his newest film "Queer" at tonight's film festival.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino (53), "Queer" is adapted from the semi-autobiographical novella penned by William Burroughs (1914-1997). Craig portrays American expatriate and war veteran William Lee, who develops a connection with a younger man: Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey, 30), a drug-addicted and discharged navy soldier.
How will viewers respond to the movie?
As per "Mail Online," several graphic scenes in the film may leave audiences stunned. A source mentions a scene with Craig engaging in oral sex with Allerton.
Nonetheless, festival director Alberto Barbera (74) commended Craig's "outstanding performance" in "Queer," asserting that he wouldn't be surprised if the British actor secured a spot at the Oscars the following year - marking his first nomination.
