Ex Christina mourns the death of "Superman" Richard Lugner

The day after Richard Lugner's death, ex-wife Christina "Mausi" Lugner struggles to maintain composure in an interview. Her "Mörtel" was an "extraordinary person," she gushes through tears. Therefore, his legacy should be preserved.

Christina Lugner repeatedly dabs her tears during the interview. The shock of her ex-husband Richard Lugner's death is visibly affecting her. She spoke to RTL, saying she had spoken to him on the phone the day before he passed away, even though he was already 91 years old, his death still came as a surprise to his family and ex-partners.

Christina Lugner, affectionately called "Mausi" by "Mörtel," was 33 years younger than her husband. They married in 1991 and were together for 16 years. "Irreconcilable differences" are said to have led to their separation, according to Bild. However, none of this is evident in Christina Lugner's interview with RTL after her ex-husband's death. Instead, she expresses gratitude for "a wonderful life and wonderful moments." She has "very, very much" to thank her ex for, she says: "I learned a lot from him, took a lot from him, and I can only say he was a truly wonderful person and will always be in our hearts. He will always be with us and always present as a superhero."

She benefited greatly from her relationship with "Mörtel," says "Mausi": "We were certainly life partners for each other. And I was always under his guidance and I needed that kind of guidance. (...) And it did me a lot of good." Her ex was an "extraordinary person" and "incredibly popular." "There's no one like him," Christina Lugner gushes.

"Alles Walzer!" now in heaven

Jacqueline, Richard and Christina Lugner's 30-year-old daughter, is still in shock but will "naturally do everything to ensure that Richard's legacy is preserved and implemented as he wished," Lugner's ex-wife explains. For now, though, it's about comforting each other: "We're hugging and crying. Then we're telling funny stories from the past. That's how we balance it out." In this context, she would like to thank everyone for their condolences.

She sends a final message to the heavens: "Thank you, dear God, for sending us Richard! I'm convinced that Richard is sitting on a cloud up there, looking down on us, maybe having a drink. He's wearing his hat and simply saying he's planning the next opera ball. And that he's saying up there: 'Alles Walzer and have a good time!'"

Christina Lugner expresses her grief over her ex-husband's death, stating, "It's still hard to believe that such an extraordinary person is no longer with us." Jacques Lugner, their daughter, is tasked with preserving her father's legacy as per his wishes.
