George Lazenby - Ex-Bond star back home after fall
George Lazenby (84) is on the road to recovery. As his management has only just announced, the Australian suffered a head injury in November when he fell in his home. The one-time James Bond actor is now back at home after a stay in a nursing home in Los Angeles.
Lazenby's manager Anders Frejdh posted the positive news on X . He also shared a picture in which he poses beaming next to his client. Lazenby is sitting upright in bed and smiling. A long scar can be seen on his forehead.
"It's not easy to get old," wrote Anders Frejdh, "but at 84, George has certainly proved what a fighter he is." In June of this year, Frejdh had to deny circulating fake news that Lazenby had died.
Negative headlines about George Lazenby
George Lazenby played James Bond in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" for the first and only time in 1969. Most recently, the Australian made negative headlines. After an appearance at a Bond event in Perth in September 2022, viewers complained about sexist and homophobic statements made by the short-lived 007, according to the BBC. He is said to have bragged about his conquests in a questionable manner.
George Lazenby apologized via Twitter after the shitstorm. "I'm sorry and saddened to hear that my stories on Saturday in Perth may have offended some people," Lazenby said in his post. It was never his intention to make hurtful or homophobic comments, he explained.
