Every fourth farm utilizes mechanisms for producing renewable energy.

Approximately 255,000 farms in Germany boast renewable energy systems. Out of these, a whopping 61,200 are fitted with solar panels, while 9,500 rely on biomass, 3,600 depend on wind turbines, 3,300 utilize solar thermal technology, and a mere 700 harness the power of water through hydropower. The Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden shared this information a few days ago.

The same office's yearly report on agricultural structures further reveals the widespread adoption of advanced machinery. For instance, modern harvesting machines like combine harvesters have been commonplace for ages. Additionally, over 18% of farms now embrace precision technology akin to spraying fertilizers and pesticides. Lots of these devices even possess self-steering capabilities.

In livestock farming, farms often equip themselves with specialized machinery to streamline feeding processes and maintain optimal climate conditions inside the barn. Last year alone, nearly 20% of dairy farms installed automatic milking systems, lovingly referred to as "milking robots."

The ongoing technological advancements in agriculture have led to the integration of renewable energy systems in the agricultural structure survey, with every fourth farm now generating power through renewable sources. To fully understand the agricultural landscape, it's crucial to conduct comprehensive operational assessments, analyzing attachments like solar panels, biomass boilers, and wind turbines. Everyone in the agriculture sector should embrace this transition towards sustainable energies, as it not only benefits the environment but also future generations.
