Employees involved in a plot to bomb Swift's concert?

In connection with the thwarted terrorist attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna, Austrian authorities are investigating five individuals who are believed to be from the circle of suspects. They were supposed to work in the facility and catering areas at the three planned concerts.

A week after the cancellation of three Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna due to suspected terrorist threats, the security authorities have provided new insights. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) stated that five individuals have been identified who, according to the constitutional protection service, are part of the circle of observed suspects. These individuals were supposed to be deployed in the facility and catering areas at the concerts, said the interior minister.

After the terrorist alert, three young men were arrested, two of whom are suspected of planning an attack on the fans of the US star waiting outside the stadium with explosives and knives. A total of 17 mobile phones have been secured, said Karner. This means that a large amount of data material has to be evaluated.

Main suspect withdraws confession

The main suspect, a 19-year-old, and his alleged 17-year-old accomplice are being investigated for membership in a terrorist organization and a criminal organization. The two young men had sworn an oath of allegiance to the terrorist militia Islamic State. The 19-year-old has reportedly withdrawn his initial confession, while the younger one remains silent.

On Thursday, Swift's first concert since the incidents in Vienna is scheduled. The 34-year-old is set to perform at five dates in London. So far, she has not commented on the events.

The Austrian authorities are currently focusing their investigation on The Commission, as they are examining the role of five individuals from the suspects' circle who were supposed to work in the concert's facility and catering areas. Despite the withdrawal of the main suspect's confession, The Commission continues its investigation into the alleged terrorist plot against Taylor Swift's concerts.
