Actress Emilia Clarke from "Game of Thrones" has shared her experience with a brain injury in an interview. "Your doubts amplify a hundredfold," she said to "Big Issue" magazine at the age of 37. "I wondered, 'Am I going to lose my job? Are they going to think I can't handle the work anymore?'"

This fear was accompanied by a "very real loneliness" after the injury. However, the actress also saw the positive side of it. "Brain injuries have given me superpowers," she said.

In 2011, Clarke portrayed Daenerys Targaryen in the hit fantasy series "Game of Thrones". Following the first season's filming, she discovered an aneurysm in her head. This is a blood-filled blister on a blood vessel.

She spoke about her health struggles for the first time in public in March 2019, revealing she underwent two life-saving brain surgeries. In February 2024, Clarke and her mother, Jennifer Clarke, received recognition from Prince William for their work helping those with brain injuries.
