Elton gets new Gameshow at RTL

He is back in the business. After it was announced at the beginning of April that Elton was leaving "Schlag den Star" on ProSeven "not willingly," he now has a new show on RTL. "Elton's 12" is supposed to offer "everything we love about action game shows."

His days as a "show intern" at "TV total" are long past. Since 2003, Stefan Raab's former sidekick Elton has proven that he can lead various TV formats on his own. At the end of the year, there will be a new task for the 53-year-old. For the first time, Elton will present the RTL game show "Elton's 12" as a Saturday evening show. The show, produced by Stefan Raab Entertainment, brings together twelve prominent candidates who have "something Special in common."

"This show has everything we love about action game shows," Elton explains about the new format in a statement. He promises "nerve-wracking tension, sweat, and pain." Luckily for him, he doesn't have to go through it himself but can just "moderate the madness." A total of six shows have been announced, in which twelve stars will compete against each other. The celebrities should ideally bring broad competencies. "The challenges range from delicate handicrafts to challenging brainteasers, all the way to breathtaking sports competitions on a large playing field," the announcement states.

The stars should also have commonalities as a TV format, profession, or passion. However, they do not act as a group but compete individually in the games and face off in duels. After two rounds of competition, only the winners advance. In the final, the best three will be determined, and they will receive a prize money of 100,000 Euro.

"Elton's 12" is supposed to go into production in the fall, with broadcast planned for the winter 24/25. Frank "Buschi" Buschmann will take on the commentator role. Together with Elton, he will be present at another RTL production in the fall: "The Clark Final Fight - Stefan Raab vs. Regina Halmich" will be live on RTL. Elton will moderate the event on September 14, with Buschmann as the commentator for the boxing match between Raab and Regina Halmich.

Elton did not leave ProSeven "willingly"

In early April, it was announced that ProSeven and Elton were parting ways. With that, he also lost his show "Schlag den Star," which he had presented for eight years. Matthias Opdenhoevel was announced as his successor the same day. Elton later expressed his disappointment on his official Instagram account and emphasized that he had not "freely given up" this wonderful show.

When the format then went on the air without him for the first time, he did not hold back and announced on Instagram that he would "watch it with a laughing and crying eye." However, he couldn't resist a sarcastic comment about the show, in which some participants struggled, and wrote "Puh ... ok ... today I guess I'll go to bed early." He quickly deleted the story.

Elton's new show, "Elton's 12," is set to air on RTL's Right-to-Left platform, produced by Stefan Raab's entertainment company. This action-packed game show promises to be filled with entertainment, as Elton mentioned, "featuring everything we love about action game shows." (Elton's quote from the announcement)

The upcoming RTL show, "Elton's 12," shares the same production company as PLuss RTL's popular figure, Stefan Raab. This collaboration between Elton and Raab Entertainment is a testament to their strong relationship in the world of German entertainment.
