Ed Sheeran auctions off his underpants

Time and again, Ed Sheeran has been committed to helping those in need. Now the singer is about to launch a very special campaign in which he will be auctioning off unironed underpants and other worn items of clothing from his wardrobe. The money raised will go to a children's hospice in his home country.

Ed Sheeran is giving away his last shirts and underpants for a good cause. The singer is auctioning off 445 of his clothes for the benefit of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH). The auction starts on November 16 on the children's hospital's eBay page.

According to the British media, the items include 149 pairs of underpants. The 32-year-old superstar is said to have worn half of them. Also on offer: 20 sweaters, 11 pairs of pants, 14 hats and 73 pairs of socks. The songwriter also packed fan merchandise from his favorite football club, Ipswich Town.

No washing, no ironing

Apparently nothing was washed or ironed. The items of clothing were left as Ed Sheeran delivered them. He dropped them off at an EACH store in Framlingham in Suffolk, where he grew up.

The auction will take place in three stages. It starts on November 16, with further windows on November 26 and December 3. On these dates, 186 pieces will be auctioned. 239 will follow next year. 20 pieces will be left behind, ready for the opening of further EACH stores. The starting bid for each piece is 9.99 British pounds (around 11 euros).

Ed Sheeran has been supporting East Anglia's Children's Hospices since 2014, when a previous auction was held. It raised 1500 pounds (around 1700 euros) for the good cause. However, only 17 items were auctioned back then. The most expensive item was a onesie for 300 pounds (around 343 euros).
