Judith Williams (52) is returning to "The Lion's Den" starting September 2nd, available on VOX and RTL+. The entrepreneur is back for the show's anniversary season after a two-year hiatus. In an interview with spot on news, Williams shares her experiences during her break and names a possible future guest lioness.

How does it feel to be back in "The Lion's Den"? Were you eager to return?

Judith Williams: Being back in "The Lion's Den" feels great! I hold this show close to my heart as it offers a platform for entrepreneurs and inspires people to pursue their dreams.

Did you watch previous seasons on TV?

Williams: Absolutely, I kept myself updated on the show's progress. It was fascinating to see how it evolved and how the lions dealt with new challenges.

Who are your main rivals this season?

Williams: I don't view them as adversaries, but fellow contestants. There are always thrilling moments in the show when the lions' opinions differ, creating intriguing dynamics.

Who could be the next "Lioness"?

Williams: There are numerous determined young entrepreneurs capable of becoming lions. After meeting Adorable Caro, an influencer with her own fashion brand, during her podcast, I suggested she join us as a guest lioness. Even if the newcomers lack experience, they bring fresh vigor and contribute uniquely to the team.

Werner Hansch is also back as a prominent founder in the new season. Do famous personalities enjoy an advantage in the startup world?

Williams: It has its pros and cons. Famous individuals possess a pre-established following, making the launch of a new business simpler. However, the success ultimately depends on the quality of the product and the execution of the business strategy.

As the "original lioness", you've made several notable deals. Which ones stand out to you?

Williams: Various deals hold a memorable place in my heart. Some because of their success, others due to their challenges. Each deal tells a story, and I'm proud of every single one. BitterLiebe is one such deal that remains vivid in my memory. The founders exhibited potential, and their innovative concept of reducing sugar cravings with bitter substances attracted me instantly. I didn't need to deliberate much over this deal.

Another deal that continues to captivate me is mellow Noir. This coffee-based ingredient designed to improve skin health and reduce fine lines and swelling is a game-changer in Germany. It caters to a niche market that remains relatively unpopular in Germany, presenting a captivating challenge.

Following your "DHDL" break, do you plan to approach your role as a "lioness" differently?

Williams: Although I took a sabbatical in the previous season, I remained active as an investor. I focused on working closely with new startups and investing in promising companies during this period. This phase enabled me to better understand the dynamics within the startup sector and refine my methodology.

Over the past two years, the world has experienced considerable changes, particularly in digital marketing. New algorithms and social media platforms like TikTok have transformed the landscape by democratizing access and reach. These advancements have also impacted our organization. While my values remain unwavering, we have strategically evolved to place greater emphasis on a robust multi-channel strategy, with a particular focus on our digital presence. I'm eagerly anticipating my return to "The Lion's Den" to support and guide innovative entrepreneurs. My approach remains consistent - I bring the same fervor and expertise that have always defined me.

Since participating in shows like "The Masked Singer" and "Let's Dance" alongside "DHDL", if you could pick another current TV program, which would it be?

Williams: There are numerous captivating formats, but I'm drawn to those that resonate with me on a personal level, offering opportunities to learn and grow. However, I have an affinity for cooking shows. I'd relish the experience of working as the sous-chef for an acclaimed chef, allowing me to absorb their guidance. I thrive on executing tasks rather than leading, finding this role intriguing. Additionally, I appreciate well-produced people empowerment shows.**

How do you feel about returning as a guest lioness for the anniversary season of "The Lion's Den"? Were you excited to return?

Judith Williams: After a two-year hiatus, it feels incredibly rewarding to rejoin "The Lion's Den" for its anniversary season. I was eager to return, knowing that I could continue to support and inspire entrepreneurs, as well as learn from the new and exciting ideas they bring.

Has Judith Williams had any interactions with potential future guest lionesses, such as Adorable Caro, whose fashion brand she's suggested joining the show?

Williams: Yes, I had the pleasure of meeting Adorable Caro during one of my podcasts and was immediately impressed by her tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit. She runs her own fashion brand and would indeed make a great addition to "The Lion's Den" as a guest lioness. Her fresh perspective can bring a unique dynamic to the team.
