Due to expressed apprehensions from its band members, Jane's Addiction calls off its remaining tour dates, with focus on their frontman Perry Farrell's well-being.
On Monday, the musical group shared a notice through their Instagram post, entitled "statement," indicating their choice to pause their collective activities temporarily, thereby discontinuing the remaining engagements of their tour.
Following this announcement, Navarro, alongside Jane's Addiction co-members Perkins and Avery, released a joint "statement" on their individual Instagram accounts. They highlighted that the tour cancellation stemmed from a persisting pattern of behavior and the mental health struggles of their vocalist, Farrell.
Their message conveyed sincere concern for Farrell's well-being and safety, both personally and collectively, leading them to make this tough decision. They hoped for his swift recovery and therapeutic assistance.
Expressing regret over the tour's halt, they pointed out that there seemed no feasible solution to guarantee a safe performance environment or consistently deliver outstanding performances night after night.
Their hearts heavy with disappointment, they concluded their statement.
The media outlet, CNN, contacted Farrell's representative for a comment.
Refunds for canceled events will be processed at the initial point of purchase for the ticket buyers, as well as those who purchased tickets through secondary resale platforms were encouraged to contact them directly.
In videos captured on Friday during their concert in Boston, Farrell and Navarro were involved in a heated altercation on stage.
Originally set to revive their tour in Toronto on Wednesday, they had previously suspended Sunday's concert in Connecticut due to this scuffle.
The tour was all set to draw to a close in Los Angeles in October.
Given the mental health issues and persistent behavioral concerns of their vocalist, Farrell, the band members decided to take a break from their entertainment activities, cancelling the remaining tour engagements for the sake of his well-being and the overall success of their performances. Despite this unfortunate turn of events, they expressed their hope for Farrell's speedy recovery and future therapeutic support.
