Drake's Million-Villa stands under water
Toronto is currently being hit by extreme downpours. Even mansions of millionaire celebrities like Drake are not spared from flooding. Here's a video Drake shared on his Instagram account showing the effects of the extreme weather on his villa.
Drake showed the impact of the heavy rain on his villa on his Instagram account. It has been raining heavily in Toronto, Canada, for several days - so heavily that not even Drake's house could withstand it. In the clip, he is seen wading through waist-high muddy water in his walk-in closet.
Despite the situation, Drake tries to see the humor in it. "I hope that's an Espresso Martini," he captioned the video for his 145 million followers and joked about the brown water masses. The floods keep flowing through the terrace door and make their way into the floor of his villa. With a small broom in his hand, the musician can no longer do anything against it.
50,000 square meter estate
In 2020, Drake presented his XXL villa in the industry magazine "Architectural Digest." His estate is 50,000 square meters and includes, among other things, a full-sized indoor NBA basketball court, rooms with ceilings 30 meters high, and a chandelier made of 20,000 hand-polished Swarovski crystals - the second largest of its kind in the world.
With the house, which Drake calls "The Embassy," he wants to showcase his wealth consciously. "It's an overwhelming luxury. This embassy is conveyed through the size of the rooms and the materials and details of the floors and ceilings. I wanted to make sure that people could see the work I've invested in from every angle," he explained about his home.
Born as Aubrey Drake Graham, Drake began his career as an actor in the teen drama series "Degrassi: The Next Generation." In the 2010s, he released some of the most influential albums of the decade, such as "Take Care," "Nothing Was the Same," and "Views." He had 13 number-one hits in the singles charts. Among them were "God's Plan," "Work" featuring Rihanna, and "One Dance" with WizKid and Kyla.
In October 2023, Drake announced that he would no longer make music for a while due to health reasons. He had "the craziest" stomach problems, the 37-year-old musician said then, without going into detail about a possible diagnosis.
The flooding in Toronto has affected even Drake's 50,000 square meter estate, complete with an indoor NBA basketball court and Swarovski crystal chandelier. In his Instagram post, Drake humorously referred to the brown flood water as an Espresso Martini. Amidst the heavy rain that has been hitting Canada for several days, even Drake's luxurious villa, known as "The Embassy," couldn't escape the impact of rap music's global superstar's city's floods.
