DJ Tomcraft dies at 49 years

At the age of just 19, Thomas Bruckner began his music career. Under the artist name DJ Tomcraft, he achieved his breakthrough with the song "Unicum". His biggest hit "Loneliness" was released in 2002. Now, at the age of 49, the musician has passed away.

We are saddened to announce that the musician and producer Thomas Bruckner, better known by his DJ name Tomcraft, has passed away. According to his family's official Instagram statement, Bruckner passed away on a Monday. No cause of death was mentioned in the post. He was 49 years old.

"Heavily hearted, we must tell you that our beloved father and husband passed away yesterday, on July 15, 2024," the family's statement reads. "We will carry you in our hearts and love you, until we are reunited again."

Tomcraft was born in Regensburg in 1975 and began his career at the age of 19. His first album, "This is No House", was released in 1995. One year later, he achieved his breakthrough with the song "Unicum". His biggest hit "Loneliness" was released in 2002 and reached the top of the British charts. In Australia, Belgium, and Germany, the song reached the top 10.

Tomcraft released a total of four albums during his career, all within a span of six years. He performed at the legendary Berlin Loveparade in 2003 before an audience of 1.3 million people. Additionally, he produced remixes for artists such as the Pet Shop Boys and the Bloodhound Gang.

Friends and colleagues expressed their condolences on Instagram. Westbam wrote on Instagram: "Our dear friend DJ Tomcraft has passed away at the age of only 49. ... It's really heart-wrenching. Rest in peace, brother." Moguai commented under the family's post: "I can't believe this!!! I'm speechless and very sad."

Despite his successful music career, which saw him release hits like "Loneliness" in 2002 and perform at the Berlin Loveparade in 2003, Tomcraft's passing at the age of 49 has left the German and international entertainment industries in mourning. His music, rooted in Germany's electronic dance scene, continues to inspire new generations of musicians.

In the midst of his thriving career, spanning from his debut at 19 in his hometown Regensburg to his breakthrough in 1996 with "Unicum," and the release of his top-charting song "Loneliness" in 2002, Tomcraft's contributions to German and international music are undeniable, influencing the genre of electronic dance music in Germany.
