Divorce drama, Green Party and Melanie Müller in court
Amira Pocher's "Mourning Outfit" Causes a Stir, Melanie Müller's Appearance Too, and the Greens Have to Face Charges of Hypocrisy for a Taylor Swift Concert. The Week in Tabloids Also Brings News That Rudi Carrell Would Have Liked.
"Has someone died? (...) Why does she look like she's going to a funeral?" These are just two of thousands of comments about Amira Pocher's outfit, which she wore for her divorce. Black pants, black vest, black sunglasses. What would people have commented if she had appeared in a light summer dress for her court date in Cologne?!
I can't contribute to this discussion, of course, as I am happily married, but I believe that a divorce is certainly no reason to celebrate. Unless, of course, one is relieved to finally be rid of the partner. In her podcast, which Pocher fans believe she only has thanks to her former partner, the host gave some insights into her feelings this week. Among other things, she said she was "disappointed" in Sandy Meyer-Wölden, who was once like a friend to her and is now unfortunately often involved in the "pure harassment" against her, for example, when she doesn't stand up to the comedian when one of his jokes is at her expense again.
At this point, we should perhaps note that it is especially good for the children to have Pocher and Meyer-Wölden make up. But this reconciliation was preceded by years of difficult times and many arguments. If you look at contributions from the archives, it is not that long ago that Pocher spoke about the difficult relationship with Sandy and how it improved thanks to Amira's many mediations. Let's see how long the two parties will continue to exploit their failed relationships in rather tiresome podcast episodes.
Can Politicians Have Fun? Of Course!
Otherwise, this week was also one in which the rich and famous enjoyed life and especially summer to the fullest. This works very well at concerts with great music, such as by US superstar Taylor Swift, where there was also plenty of political VIPs. Among them were Green politicians Claudia Roth and Ricarda Lang, who celebrated enthusiastically and received heavy criticism for it.
It is known that the pop star has immense appeal. Tickets for Swift's concerts are rare and above all: expensive. When Roth and Lang sing along at the top of their lungs, the shitstorm doesn't take long to arrive. Can politicians not have fun? Of course. But many critics find it negative that this musician in particular does not fit into the Greens' agenda. One comment out of many says: "Especially Taylor Swift, who unpacks her private jet for every fart. Somehow, that's not what I imagine from a political person with the goal of saving the climate."
Swift travels almost tirelessly around the globe and tries to ease her conscience by buying CO2 certificates. According to research by the news portal "Yard", she caused about 8,300 tons of carbon dioxide emissions alone in 2022 with her private jet - an amount that corresponds to the thousandfold average emissions of a European. On the other hand, one must also ask what would happen if Taylor Swift suddenly sat next to one in the economy class and traveled around the world like everyone else?
Turning our attention now to a lady who has once again made headlines for all the wrong reasons: Melanie Müller. The Ballermann star had to face court charges for drug possession and for "using symbols of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations". The 36-year-old denies showing the Hitler salute at an event in September 2022, claiming that the extended hand was part of her dance choreography and that she was merely hyping up her audience. The presumption of innocence applies.
The trial's opening sparked ridicule and mockery, particularly due to Müller's significantly altered appearance. Yes, Müller has had work done on her face, but the way people are now reacting to her appearance is just as ugly. One can criticize the singer for her alleged actions without engaging in a social media competition to see who can make the cruelest remarks about her "disfigured" face.
In closing this week's celebrity roundup, two TV news items. Sat1 wants to bring back the reality show "Promis unter Palmen", where once upon a time, mobbing and homophobia were broadcast for prime-time ratings. The show was promptly cancelled amidst the uproar. However, one must admit that the concept of fairness and respect in many reality formats is often just lip service, and we've come a long way since then. So, it can only get better!
And finally, a dating show is set for a comeback. "Herzblatt", which enjoyed cult status in the 90s with Rudi Carrell as the host, is returning to screens, but this time in a mobile version. Candidates can currently only ride around in the "Herzblatt Taxi" in Austria, hoping to find love. But keep an eye on the meter while flirting. Until next week!
After the court charges against Melanie Müller, some viewers were Criticizing her altered appearance during the trial, instead of focusing on the allegations against her.
Despite the controversy surrounding Taylor Swift's carbon footprint, Green politicians Claudia Roth and Ricarda Lang were spotted enjoying her concert, facing heavy criticism from some.
