- Discontentment arises from an unsatisfactory zero-rated dining experience in the RTL wilderness.
Sarah Knappik and Elena Miras, the jungle campers, didn't manage to score a single star during a test on RTL's summer show. As Elena ("Promis unter Palmen") put it, "It's unfortunate that we didn't get any stars. That means the others have to go hungry." They faced educational questions and brain teasers while sitting in barrels filled with fish guts and other debris on a big seesaw. Even when they answered correctly, they didn't manage to throw the star.
In an episode of "Ich bin ein Star – Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden" on RTL+, Sarah struggled to spell "Africa" backwards and Elena couldn't name three characters from "The Lion King". When asked to name four African countries, Elena could only think of "Tanzania" and the nonexistent "Mambia".
Anxiety about separating
Their fear of one of them having to leave in the elimination round may have contributed to their failure. They took their zero score in stride, still having rice and bland beans. Mola Adebisi even welcomed the opportunity to lose more weight. They'd been dealing with a cooking crisis earlier.
Giulia Siegel cooked a small chicken from the last test, but it lacked seasoning and was flavored with lemon. She tried to smuggle salt and herbs into the camp, but had to return them.
Gigi wants a baby
The lemon turned out to be a failed experiment, and the cabbage seeds also spread everywhere. Only Thorsten Legat seemed unaffected, saying, "The food tasted great." Giulia admitted, "I ruined the food with good intentions."
Gigi Birofio ("Prominent getrennt") was going through a personal crisis: "I was such a jerk before I came in here. Now I'm just a jerk. You think too much in here." At 25, he said, "There was a time in my life where I didn't care about anything. (...) I was disgusting. (...) I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart. I'll be alone."
His solution to his self-worth problem: "I'm going to be a father." Everyone tried to talk him out of it. "Wait two more years," Siegel advised him. Otherwise, the child would grow up with its single mother.
Scary predictions and personal revelations
Kader Loth tried to scare Sarah about aging: "When you get older, you'll look like a dinosaur. Your face gets wider, you get a double chin, your ears get bigger, your nose gets bigger." Sarah's comeback: "But you get better in bed."
Thorsten Legat talked about his ability to kill animals: "When my father still had a garden, I had to slaughter chickens and rabbits sometimes." Danni Büchner opened up about a toxic, violent relationship under the campfire's light.
Sarah and Giulia argued by the river. And Winfried Glatzeder was sent off with applause from the other campers. "I would have liked to have the 100,000 Euro prize money," he whispered. "But freedom is more important to me." Apart from Glatzeder, Hanka Rackwitz and David Ortega had already left the show.
Despite their struggles in the competition, Sarah Knappik and Elena Miras remained hopeful while in South Africa, as Elena mentioned, "It's unfortunate that we didn't get any stars in the challenge. However, we still have rice and beans to eat." During their time in the camp, they faced various tasks, including a spelling challenge where Sarah struggled with spelling "Africa" backwards.
In a different conversation, Elena revealed her struggle to name four African countries, only managing to remember Tanzania and a fictional country, which added to their team's zero score in the competition.
