Pop titan - Dieter Bohlen is no friend of Ballermann

Dieter Bohlen loves Mallorca but hates Ballermann. "I personally avoid Ballermann and have never been there. I also find the party and nightlife in the resort areas much better," the musician, producer, and "Germany's Next Topmodel" jury member told the "Mallorca Magazine" in an interview.

He can understand the growing resentment of the inhabitants of the Spanish holiday island against mass tourism. "It's true that many German party tourists behave extremely badly." The housing crisis on Mallorca he compares to the situation on Sylt, where people "hardly have enough money to pay for rising rent prices."

The island, which he first visited when he was 18, was "much more natural and natural" earlier on. The 70-year-old emphasizes, "I have seen a lot of the world, I was recently on Crete, which is also great. But Mallorca is irreplaceable for me." His favorite spot is Valldemossa, but it's too lonely for him to live there. "Now we have a 90-square-meter apartment in the southwest of the island."

Bohlen reveals his success secret

With his girlfriend Carina, whom he met 18 years ago in a discotheque in Cala Rajada in the northeast of the island, Bohlen sails on Mallorca "in the sun and the right wind conditions (..) with the boat on the sea." It's not about a "mega-yacht, but about a small ten-meter boat, the 'Braveheart'." In general, he gives himself up completely on Mallorca and doesn't drive around in a Ferrari.

Of course, in the summer work doesn't come to a standstill for Dieter Bohlen: He has just finished filming a DSDS season that will be aired in September and October. "The secret of my success is simply: working harder than everyone else," he told the "Mallorca Magazine." "I run the extra mile in my business, work partly on weekends. In the early days, I sat with my keyboarder in the studio on Christmas and we both had no gifts for our loved ones."
