On Tracy Pollan's 64th birthday on June 22, 2024, Michael J. Fox showed his affection with a heartfelt Instagram post. He expressed his love for her with a touching declaration, stating "In every beautiful way, it's the beautiful day of the beautiful Tracy." The "Back to the Future" star further emphasized his love, promising her it would be "an epic day" and that he'd always be her "Mike" full of love. Throughout their journey, Pollan has been a constant source of support for Fox, especially during his battle with Parkinson's. She stood by his side as his film "Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie" won the best documentary award at the "National Board of Review" gala in January 2024. The couple first met in 1985 when Pollan played Fox's girlfriend on the sitcom "Family Ties". They became an item three years later during the filming of "Bright Lights, Big City". On July 16, 1988, they tied the knot. In 1991, at the young age of 29, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's, a fact he made public in 1998.
In a conversation with American magazine "People", Fox spoke about his long marriage: "35 years of marriage... it's been the best 35 years of my life." He confessed that many people would desire to know him, but only his wife truly understands who he is. During a March 2023 event, he publicly commended his wife for the countless sacrifices she's made, saying "Tracy gives our family everything we need. All the good in our family, all the good we do, comes from her."
