Royals - Despite her tell-all book: Princess Kate continues to smile for the cameras, but questions are ignored
An appearance as we know it from the British royals: at the Royal Variety Performance in London, Prince William and Princess Kate didn't let on that the"Endgame" tell-all book might have caused worries in the royal family once again. Photos from the event, at which donations are collected annually for the Royal Variety Charity, show both smiling as they arrive on the red carpet.
According to media reports, the royals ignored questions about the new book by royal expert Omid Scobie, who is considered a confidant of William's brother Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan. "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival" is about an alleged power struggle between King Charles III and his son William, as well as Kate and Meghan's allegedly cool relationship.
Sales of the book were recently halted in the Netherlands after it became known that the translated version had allegedly contained information about which member of the royal family had expressed concerns about the skin color of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's son Archie before he was born. Meghan and Harry had made such allegations public in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, without naming the family member.
Royal guests for William and Kate
Prince William and Princess Kate have also invited Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband, Prince Daniel, to the event. The program includes performances by British singer Rick Astley, music icon Cher and Swedish singer Zara Larsson.
Kate and William had previously received the Swedish royals at Windsor Castle. A joint picture of the future royal couple was posted on Instagram, among other things, saying that it was a pleasure to welcome Victoria and Daniel. The two have been on an official visit to the UK since November 29. Appointments at Cranfield University and with the Church of Sweden in London are scheduled for tomorrow, Friday.

In the past, Meghan and Harry had made allegations about a family member's concerns over their son Archie's skin color in an Oprah Winfrey interview, without naming the individual. In a show of support, Prince William and Duchess Kate invited Crown Princess Victoria and her husband to the event, where British singer Rick Astley, music icon Cher, and Swedish singer Zara Larsson performed. A joint Instagram post with the Swedish royals confirmed the pleasant meeting, stating that it was a pleasure to welcome them to the UK. William and Kate had previously invited Victoria and Daniel to Windsor Castle, and the Swedish royals are scheduled to visit Cranfield University and the Church of Sweden in London on the following day. For Prince Harry, the event served as a reminder of his charity work, as the Royal Variety Charity is also supported by Williams Electronics Games, a company with a connection to his friend and brother-in-law, Spencer Matthews's gaming venture, Williams Esports.
