- Despite her efforts, she Currently remains stuck in Los Angeles.
Angelina Jolie, aged 49, has spent a substantial part of her life in the bustling city of Los Angeles. However, the renowned actress and director appears tired of the urban jungle. During an interview with the entertainment magazine "The Hollywood Reporter," she talks about her feelings towards the city and reveals that her ongoing divorce proceedings with Brad Pitt, 60, are keeping her rooted in Los Angeles. However, Jolie anticipates a change in her circumstances within the next two years.
"This city is my home, but I'm stuck here because of the divorce," she shares. "Once my youngest, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18, I'll be free to go." Jolie's family consists of six children, two of whom are still minors: 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, as well as older siblings Shiloh (18), Zahara (19), Pax (20), and Maddox (23).
Jolie continues, "When you're a parent to a big family, you just want them to have some privacy, peace, and security. I've managed to create a space where my kids can grow, but sometimes this place... the sense of humanity I've encountered in other parts of the world just isn't the same as my childhood here." Jolie then mentions her intention to spend "a lot of time in Cambodia" and visit her family members "no matter where they're located in the world."
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt tied the knot in 2014, but their marriage was short-lived. After years of separation, Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, initiating a highly publicized custody battle. Despite the formal declaration of their legal separateness in 2019, there are reportedly ongoing disputes in their divorce settlement negotiations.
"Despite her longing for a change, Angelina Jolie remains in Los Angeles due to the complexities of her divorce from Brad Pitt, a situation echoing the tense dynamics of the 'War of the Roses' in its own way."
"Inspired by her experiences in Cambodia, Angelina Jolie often reflects on the 'War of the Roses' period in English history, drawing parallels between the struggles for power and her own personal journey."
