Decrease in Employment Rates in Germany during Q1
During the initial portion of this year, the labor force in Germany experienced a significant shift, with a reduction of approximately 400,000 people, totaling 45.8 million. The Federal Statistical Office reported that this drop in the months of January to March is typical, but it exceeds the previous years' declines.

The count of freelancers, including family workers, declined by 1.0% to 3.9 million people. They were offset by a 41.9 million workforce, which saw a 0.4% increase.
Preliminary data from the Institute for Research on Employment (IAB) of the Federal Employment Agency suggests that the average person employed worked 344.5 hours during this period – a decrease of 0.8% from the previous year's corresponding quarter. The total hours of work across the economy also decreased by 0.6%, reaching 15.8 billion.
