Jungle Camp 2024 - "Das Boot" star Heinz Hoenig first candidate for "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!"

For Hoenig, who has starred in films such as "Das Boot" (1981) and "Der König von St. Pauli" (1998), his view of taking part in the RTL show "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" has changed over time: "Jungle camp used to be about the end, that was the way it was among us," said the actor. "But that hasn't just died down, it's actually turned into the opposite," he says.

Jungle camp was the end

His wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (38) and their sons Juliano and Jianni (three years and one year old) are flying with him to Australia. According to his wife, the actor could shed his "rough exterior" after a while in the camp and show his emotional side. "My mom gave me permission and showed me that it's okay to cry," Hoenig explained in the RTL interview. The 17th season of "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" starts in January on RTL and will be hosted by Sonja Zietlow and Jan Köppen.
