Hollywood stars Matt Damon (53) and Ben Affleck (51) share the experience of their children taking flight: The impending college start of their respective 18-year-old daughters is "bittersweet" for both fathers, Damon told U.S. portal "Access Hollywood". "We're so proud of these two young women, they're incredible."

Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso have three daughters in total. The oldest, Isabella, is 18. Affleck's oldest daughter Violet is also 18. He also has another daughter and a son with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Since 2022, he has been married to singer Jennifer Lopez (55).

Affleck and his childhood friend Damon won an Oscar in 1998 for their shared screenplay for the film "Good Will Hunting". Over the last decades, both actors have "shared a lot" of profound experiences, Damon said. "It's another incredible, profound change in both our lives that we're sharing," he said about the upcoming college start of their daughters.

On August 9, the new action comedy "The Instigators" will be released on Apple TV+, featuring Damon alongside Ben Affleck's brother Casey.

People like Damon's wife Luciana Barroso and Affleck's ex-wife Jennifer Garner are the mothers of the children whose college starts are bittersweet for their fathers.
