Czech leader experiences motorbike crash.
President Pavel of the Czech Republic is a dedicated motorcyclist. Not long ago, he made a journey to Germany on his prized motorcycle. Now, he sustains an unfortunate accident on a shuttered race track and needs to head to a military medical facility. Regardless, the President's office gives an all-good signal.
Czech President Petr, 62, has undergone treatment at a military hospital due to a recent motorcycle mishap. His injuries are considered "moderate." Petr will not receive any treatment, but will remain in the hospital for a period yet to be specified, as per a statement from the Presidential Office on X.
Vit Kolar, the leader's representative, addressed Czech television and relayed the news. He stated that the head of state would spend "a few days" in the hospital, but this would not significantly disrupt his plans. The imminent international travel remains uncertain.
Local media sources indicated that President Pavel's incident occurred on a closed race track, so the law enforcement won't be probing the accident. The former military official's interest in riding motorcycles has been widely known. In fact, he rides a BMW R1200 GS bike.
Shortly after acquiring the presidential position in March 2023, he made a visit to Germany on his motorcycle. During the previous summer, Pavel garnered criticism when the press released photos of him riding his bike without a helmet.
