Gymnastics at Olympia - Cruise, Gaga, Snoop Dogg: Stars want to see Biles
The first appearance of US gymnast Simone Biles (27) at the Olympics in Paris attracted numerous stars as fans. In the Bercy Arena, Hollywood star Tom Cruise, rapper Snoop Dogg, and singers Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were among those present on the tribune, eager to see the four-time Olympic champion. They cheered for Biles just like the fans, and were themselves sought-after photo opportunities.
"Wow, that's really impressive. I saw Snoop Dogg and Ariana Grande. They even watched me gymnastics, not everyone can say that, that's a big deal," said German gymnast Helen Kevric on ZDF. Olympic debutant Kevric even let Biles perform behind her on an event. The 16-year-old German all-around champion received 14.600 points for her routine on the uneven bars, 0.167 points more than gymnastics icon Biles.
Team colleague Sarah Voss was also pleased: "Tom Cruise and Snoop Dogg watched me during the competition. Who can say that? That's pretty funny. That's why it was a lot of fun."
