Shifty Shellshock - Crazy Town singer died of drugs

On June 24, 2024, Shifty Shellshock passed away at the age of 49 in his Los Angeles house. The cause of death for the singer of Crazy Town, whose civil name was Seth Binzer, has been confirmed by Howie Hubberman, the band's manager, to People magazine. "The cause of death was a combination of prescription medications and street-bought drugs," Hubberman stated. He did not disclose which specific substances were involved.

The manager took partial responsibility for his ward's death. "Shifty was a friend and wanted to get a grip - unfortunately, nobody had the exact means to do so, including me," Hubberman added.

"In the end, we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here"

Furthermore, Hubberman stated, "After Seth Binzer struggled with his addiction and Crazy Town reached success with 'Butterfly,' he was never able to deal with his vices on a more successful level." The manager continued, "We all tried, but in the end, we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here," as Hubberman put it.

No official confirmation has been made from the authorities. The investigators in Los Angeles County are still waiting for the toxicology report.

Shifty Shellshock founded the predecessor band of Crazy Town with his best friend Epic Mazur (53) in 1992. In 2000, they scored a worldwide hit with "Butterfly," which would be the only number one for the group. Shellshock's drug issues were a matter of public record. He participated in the shows "Celebrity Rehab" and "Sober House," which assisted celebrities in their recovery.

Despite his participation in reconstruction programs, Shifty Shellshock's struggle with drug addiction continued after Crazy Town's success with "Butterfly."

The overdose that led to his death occurred in his Los Angeles residence on June 24, 2024.

Seth Binzer's cause of death was a lethal mix of prescription medications and street-bought drugs, according to Howie Hubberman, Crazy Town's manager.

In the wake of his friend's passing, Hubberman expressed regret, stating, "We all tried, but in the end, we all failed, otherwise Shifty would still be here."
