30 years of Viva - Companions praise Heike Makatsch's talent as a presenter
Fellow presenters at the former music channel Viva have raved about the talent of former presenter Heike Makatsch (52). Nilz Bokelberg told Deutsche Presse-Agentur about his former colleague in the 1990s, saying that he was impressed by the way she forgot the camera from day one and was authentic.
The 47-year-old added: "And when I watch Heike's old shows today, I still think: Fuck you, she really is such a natural!" You have to acknowledge that without envy, "she really has it in her genes".
"Definitely Heike"
Born in 1965, Elmar Giglinger, who was part of the founding editorial team of Viva at the time and played a decisive role in shaping the program over the years, also mentioned her name in the dpa interview when asked who was particularly talented: "Definitely Heike."
Giglinger and former Viva and MTV presenter Markus Kavka recently published the book "MTViva liebt dich!" about music television in Germany with Ullstein Verlag. ARD is currently also showing the documentary "Die Viva-Story - Zu geil für diese Welt!" with companions in its media library.
The channel went on air on December 1, 1993 - 30 years ago. With its colorful studio rooms and yellow and blue logo, it was a competitor to the international channel MTV. Viva was discontinued at the end of 2018.
For many of the young presenters on the private channel in Cologne, the pop music phenomenon was a springboard. Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, Stefan Raab, Matthias Opdenhövel, Collien Ulmen-Fernandes, Oliver Pocher, Gülcan Kamps and Mola Adebisi all came from the Viva stable - as did Heike Makatsch, who was one of the channel's first faces.
Born in Düsseldorf, Makatsch gradually became known to millions with her cinema and television films. For example, she starred in the film "Männerpension" or in international productions such as "Tatsächlich... Love".
