Cologne puzzles over giant poster

Anyone passing through Cologne's Ehrenfeldgürtel at the moment is likely to be taken aback by the sight of a façade. There is a huge poster on it, adorned with an equally oversized love message. People in Cologne are now puzzling over what it is all about.

The message sounds truly heartbreaking: "Elisabeth, we said FOREVER!" The whole thing in huge letters, bright red lettering and flanked by a broken heart. The poster with this inscription is attached to the façade of an apartment building in the Ehrenfeld district of Cologne. Here it catches the eye of onlookers on the Ehrenfeldgürtel.

What is behind the campaign is now causing headaches not only for residents, but also for the media and online commentators. The Cologne newspaper "Express" reports that the banner was probably put up on Monday night.

It is also reported that notes with similarly cryptic messages have also appeared in the vicinity of the house with the poster, for example on lampposts or electricity boxes. "Elisabeth, come back. We still had so much to do" or "Elisabeth, you are the one for me. Please come back," they read.

"A case for Julia Leischik"

Among others, the Instagram page "koelnistkool" is now dealing with the "Elisabeth" riddle. "We're playing Cologne's Cupid and want to help this desperate romantic in search of his lost love," reads a post on the page.

However, followers of the channel only take the matter seriously to a limited extent. "Lisbeth, go back before the whole city is plastered over," reads one comment. "A case for Julia Leischik!", another - alluding to the TV presenter who became famous with shows such as "Missing" or "Julia Leischik is looking for you: Please get in touch".

According to "Express", the Ehrenfeld district is a popular place for enigmatic or simply funny posters. Only recently, for example, a sign with the words "Ein Fahrt" ("A ride") to a fast food restaurant caused a laugh. Sprayers also like to let off steam with their graffiti in Ehrenfeld. What the love message to "Elisabeth" is all about will surely be clarified. Or will it?

The entertaining mystery surrounding the love message to 'Elisabeth' has sparked interest on social media platforms, with users trying to solve the riddle. A local Instagram page named "koelnistkool" has joined the conversation, promising to aid the 'desperate romantic.'

Despite the seriousness shown by some followers, others have taken a light-hearted approach, suggesting humorous solutions like urging 'Lisbeth' to return before the entire city is covered with posters.
