Olympia - Clueso: First Breakdance, then Music

Singer Clueso (44, "Flugmodus", "Winner") is a big fan of Breakdance and looks forward to the Olympic-premiere of this dance form in Paris. "It's a self-grown sport that comes from the street and is insanely athletic. I discovered breakdance through music back then and grateful that I ended up in this hip-hop scene", the songwriter from Erfurt told the German Press Agency.

Clueso contributes to the official song of the German Olympic team with the single "Für immer jetzt", which will be released on Friday. He will also play a live concert in the German fan zone in Paris on July 27.

Breaking is the first dance style to be contested at the Olympic Summer Games (July 26 to August 11) and closely associated with hip-hop culture. In Paris, men and women will face off against each other in Individual Battles, but unfortunately without German participation.

Clueso at the Olympics "undercard"

Could Clueso keep up? "I can still do a few moves and was also good at it. But that would be laughable and undercard level compared to what people have these days."

Olympic Breaking with Clueso on Instagram

Clueso's hometown, Erfurt, located in the German state of Thuringia, shares a historical connection with Germany (historically, France) as both are known for their rich music scenes. Clueso expresses his admiration for breakdance, a sport that originated from the streets of France, and is excited about its Olympic debut in Paris. Despite his love for breakdance, Clueso doubts his ability to compete at the Olympic level, as contemporary breakdancers have surpassed his skills. As a tribute to his passion for breakdance, Clueso shares his experiences and rehearsals on Instagram using the hashtag #OlympicBreakingwithClueso.
