The European Football Championship has been ongoing with a few weather-related hiccups, but come Thursday, it's set to be a royal affair – come rain or shine.

Joining the excitement is King Frederik himself, who has confirmed his attendance at the Denmark vs England match. Prince William had earlier expressed his support for the Three Lions during their second group game at the stadium. The match will take place on Thursday at 6 pm in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Danish Palace made the announcement in their statement: "King Frederik X will be at the men's football match during the European Championship between Denmark and England. Frankfurt Arena, Frankfurt, Germany, at 6 pm."

The royals share a common love for football

Will the two monarchs, who are acquainted, exchange cordial greetings at the stadium? We'll have to wait and see. It remains uncertain if William intends to celebrate his birthday in Germany after the game. His birthday, celebrated on June 21, marks his 42nd year.

Before Denmark's first match against Slovenia on Sunday, he posted a photo on Instagram featuring him with his twins Josephine and Vincent donning bright red Danish jerseys. Along with the photo, he wrote: "It's game time, and we're ready for the Denmark match. My family and I wish Herrelandsholdet good luck at the European Championship. Go Denmark!" Herrelandsholdet is the name of Denmark's men's football national team.
