This year, national and international artists are getting in the mood for Christmas with songs and albums and bringing new energy to the Christmas music playlist. In addition to festive new compositions, there are also new interpretations of well-known Christmas classics.
Cher
Her fans have been waiting a long time for this: Cher (77) released her very first Christmas album back in October, which is also her first new studio album in five years. The album with the simple title "Christmas" contains 13 songs, including Christmas classics and four original compositions. Included are duets with well-known colleagues of Cher's. These include Darlene Love, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé, Cyndi Lauper and Tyga.
Gregory Porter
Gregory Porter (52) released "Christmas Wish" at the beginning of November. The US jazz singer performs classics such as "Silent Night" with his band and orchestra, as well as original compositions such as the album's title track. There is also a duet with jazz vocal star Samara Joy (24). "Christmas is very important to me. And it's also very important to my family," says Porter about Christmas and speaks of a feeling of renewal: "It's the moment in the year when time is reset."
Jason Derulo
US superstar Jason Derulo (34) has also been getting his fans into the Christmas spirit since the beginning of November with "Closer To Christmas". The upbeat song is about a person he is really looking forward to and is therefore counting down the days until Christmas: "Every day is one day closer to Christmas / I'm one day closer to you", sings the R&B singer (in German: "Every day is one day closer to Christmas / I'm one day closer to you.")
Bon Jovi
The US rock band Bon Jovi also released a song in mid-November with a festive sound and a wish to see someone for the holidays. Among other things, "Christmas Isn't Christmas" reads: "Promise me you'll be home soon. 'Cause Christmas isn't Christmas without you." Singer Jon Bon Jovi (61) explained in an Instagram video that he wrote the song two years ago when his parents fell ill during the holidays: "It was a tough day in our house. My dad and mom had both gotten sick, and I wrote this as a gift to my parents and my kids."
OneRepublic
The US pop-rock band OneRepublic rang in the Christmas season back in October. With their upbeat song "Dear Santa", they send their longing message to Santa: "Dear Santa, make my wish come true. There's only one thing on my list. To have my baby home for Christmas (in German: "Dear Santa, make my wish come true. There's only one thing on my list: To have my baby home for Christmas."

Larsson will be giving three Christmas concerts in Stockholm on December 8, 9 and 16 for the Swedish Luciafest.
Tokio Hotel
Tokio Hotel also wanted to pay tribute to this year's Christmas with their own song. The band released the Amazon Music original song "Your Christmas" on November 7. "For us, Christmas is the best time of the year. Anyone who knows us knows that we are real Christmas nerds," said Bill Kaulitz in a statement. "It gets super over the top and cheesy with Tom and I in LA and we try to get together every year at Gustav's in Magdeburg for a pre-Christmas band dinner." To celebrate Christmas and the song, the band is hosting its own Christmas party in Berlin on December 4, "Your Christmas: Christmas with Tokio Hotel" with friends and fans.
