China declines to join peace talks for Ukraine in Switzerland.
On Friday in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that China finds the conditions unsuitable for their involvement in the Switzerland-organized Ukraine peace conference. She noted a significant discrepancy between the conference's design and both China's needs and the global community's anticipation, making it challenging for China to take part.
Mao's statement confirmed that the relevant parties have already received China's concerns. Diplomatic sources also acknowledged the likelihood of China's withdrawal.
According to Mao, the three elements essential to China are:1. Agreement on the conference by both Russia and Ukraine2. Inequality amongst the participants, with equal representation for all parties3. A balanced discussion considering all possible peace options.
Unfortunately, these elements appear unachievable, given the present setup of the meeting and the inputs from all parties.

Despite China's significant role in global diplomacy, their expectations for equal representation and a balanced discussion at the Ukraine peace conference in Switzerland were not met, leading to their decision not to participate. This leaves uncertainty about the outcome of the conference, especially given China's potential contributions towards promoting peace between Russia and Ukraine.
