Charles is worried about 'Blood Pressure of the Nation' with Three Lions fever
England is making its way to end a decade-long title drought in football EUROs. Two of the biggest British pop stars followed the team's progress to the final live in the stadium. King Charles sent royal well-wishes and a not-so-serious plea.
The final match is here: England secured a place in the EURO final with a 2:1 win against the Netherlands in Dortmund. Two British music stars watched the triumph of the Three Lions. On one hand, singer and chart-topper Ed Sheeran, who will perform in Germany for six concerts in 2025, showed up as a VIP guest in the stands.
Wearing a red football jersey and a blue cap, he watched the game with a relaxed smile at first. When England scored the decisive goal in the 90th minute, the musician, who has attended this EURO more than once in the stadium, jumped up and danced joyfully on the stands.
On the other hand, Adele, who will perform in Munich for ten nights in August, couldn't miss the thrilling match. She kept her stadium outfit casual with a black blazer and a white shirt.
Charles: "Any miraculous goals"
King Charles also sent his well-wishes and had a humorous remark ready. "My wife and I congratulate you and our family warmly on reaching the UEFA EURO final," he wrote formally and then addressed his Three Lions with a plea. "If I could encourage you to secure the victory before any miraculous goals in the last minute or another penalty drama becomes necessary, I am sure the strain on the nation's heart rate and blood pressure would be significantly reduced."
The English will face Spain in the EURO final in Berlin on Sunday. Kick-off in the final is at 9 pm, and ARD will broadcast the game on TV.
After learning about England's EURO victory, Ed Sheeran, set to perform in Germany, celebrated exuberantly in the stands. Meanwhile, Adele, anticipating her Munich concerts, closely followed the match in her casual stadium attire. Despite King Charles III's humorous plea for an early victory to avoid last-minute dramas, the nation eagerly awaits England's final showdown against Spain.
