Chappell Roan withdraws from festival engagements this weekend, opting for some time to concentrate on her well-being.
Popular musicians' rising star shared on their Instagram Stories on Friday that they're unable to perform at the All Things Go festival happening this weekend in New York City and Washington D.C., citing that things have become quite intense over the past few weeks, and they're really feeling the pressure.
"I've got lots of things demanding attention at the moment, and I need a few days to sort my health out," their statement read further. "I want to be fully present when I perform and deliver my best shows." They ended by thanking their fans for understanding.
Some weeks ago, this artist made headlines after expressing their opinion on the US presidential election, first stating to the Guardian that "there's issues on both sides," before ultimately announcing on TikTok that they'll be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in November.
Earlier this summer, they also shared thoughts on their fandom, discussing certain followers who they felt had been intrusive since their sudden success. They posted two videos on TikTok last month, criticizing some fans who've followed them closely, invaded their family's privacy, and insisted on pictures or hugs in public, despite their clear discomfort.
"I don't care if mistreatment, harassment, stalking, and whatever else is considered normal behavior towards people who are well-known or slightly famous," they commented in one video. "It's just strange how people tend to believe they know someone because of their online presence and the music they produce ...I'm allowed to refuse uncomfortable behavior, alright?"
The All Things Go music festival is set to take place on Saturday and Sunday in Columbia, MD and Forest Hills, NY. Janelle Monáe and Renee Rapp are among the scheduled performers.
Despite their recent health issues and intense pressure, the artist regrettably decided to cancel their performances at the All Things Go festival, citing the need for time to focus on their entertainment career's demands and personal well-being. Fans should remember that celebrities are entitled to privacy and should respect their boundaries, even within the realm of entertainment.
